A ritual is a ceremony derived from old, religious traditions, which is performed according to specific rules, usually in a solemn atmosphere, on some important moments of human existence (birth, christening, marriage, death). It can be as well related to some agricultural work stages (sowing, harvesting), or related to the seasons' succession, or in the case of holidays or events that take place in a traditional community.
Mysterious druids' rituals were based on elements of magic, knowledge about the power of plants, astrology, and the study of natural phenomena and notions about the power of immortal gods. For common people they were mediators between them and the divinity and they used to teach them about the nature of things, about the immortality of the soul, about the death fear suppression and the cult of gods. Druids used to speak about the reincarnation of the soul in different bodies; they knew the hidden laws of the nature and they were able to control its forces.
One of the Celtic rituals is related to everybody's strong desire to be forever young. Therefore, Celts imagined the youth elixir. This ritual is miraculous as far as somebody's appearance is concerned, and new, pleasant coincidences in many people's lives - of course that have performed it - make them feel more confident, waiting for new opportunities and advantages.
As most of the rituals, it must be previously prepared. You have to choose the month of the year, then a sunny day and a full moon night to begin. The ritual can start at about 12 pm. You need a glass or a transparent cup that can have a slight bluish shade, a white saucer, a white candle, and a picture of yours when you looked young and beautiful. This is what you have to do:
1 Poor some water in the glass and cover it with a saucer. The water can be taken from a natural, clear spring, or you can even use mineral water.
2. Before noon you have to put the glass on a windowsill that is oriented towards South. Do not forget that the day of the ritual must be a clear, sunny day.
3. At midnight, on a full moon night, light a white candle.
4. Put the glass of water on the right of the burning candle, so that the candle is in front of you and the glass is on your right.
5. Put the picture in front of you, next to the candle. It must be a picture in which you were young or a picture belonging to a happy time of your life that you want to reactivate. Look at the picture strongly believing that your past beauty can come back (in the past people used paintings or drawings instead of photos)
6. Say rarely and firmly:
Youth Will
Youth Elixir
I am watching you
I am drinking from your stream
With confidence and faith
Turn my mind into a new one
My spirit and my body too
So that I can be young, careless, courageous and in love, one more time
And I can enjoy physical strength, vitality and youth one more time
7. Look upwards and imagine a will, with clear, glittering water. Imagine that you can find in it the glorious and the mystical elixir of life and youth. Imagine that you are in front of this will and its water covers you completely.
You will feel that the mystic force of this water is able to wash out your weariness and tiredness, replacing them with youth, vitality, strength, and energy.
8. Enjoy a lovely feeling for a few minutes (2'-4')
9. Put the picture on the left of the candle.
10. Keep the glass in front of your eyes and say:
Oh, youth elixir let your mystic force refresh my body, my soul and my mind. I do believe in your power. I drink faithfully. I drink confidently. Youth comes back to me. Let it be!
11. Drink the water!
12. Now the ritual is completed.
You can repeat this ritual every day, for a week, three times successively. It can have magic consequences. Perform it correctly and do believe in its power and you will become a new person.
Do not forget that Celtic magic rituals are as old as King Arthur is, the Knights of the Round Table, and the great druid known as Merlin, or even older than they...are
